Sr. Plant Electrical Engineer

As the Sr. Plant Electrical Engineer, you will supervise the operation, maintenance, and installation of electrical equipment in the biopharmaceutical process facility, in accordance with Biopharm Safety Procedures and cGMPs. Plans, coordinates, schedules, and oversees projects related to the electrical equipment infrastructure for plant operation. Evaluate and develop technology, plan and implement modifications and upgrades to electrical systems, and provide technical support.

  • Lead the design and installation of electrical systems including low, medium, and high voltage infrastructure.
  • Develop and optimize operation and maintenance procedures for electrical infrastructure.
  • Supervises operation and maintenance of 34,000 volt, 4160 volt, and 480 volt electrical distribution networks including transformers, switches, circuit breakers, contactors and control instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems with electrical infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support for existing electrical systems. Analyze repairs and maintenance requirements in order to proactively address system weaknesses.
  • Manage vendors and consultants to ensure that contracts contain appropriate technical specifications and are delivered as required.
  • Stay current on developments in the field of electrical infrastructure and system monitoring.
  • Interface with users, peers, and management to ensure appropriate input and integration of local and corporate standards.
  • Define electrical systems and controls required to meet plant objectives and define a detailed plan necessary to complete approved projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Act as electrical engineering duty holder for site and maintain responsibility for all electrical GES requirement implementation.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience leading the design, programming, start-up, and troubleshooting of electrical infrastructure
  • 2+ years of electrical systems experience and knowledge
  • Prior experience engineering or maintaining high voltage electrical equipment.
  • 2+ years' experience in leadership to generate options, resolve problems, prioritize solutions, select optimal solutions, and implement decisions
  • 2+ years' collaboration with peers, subordinates, and senior personnel in multidisciplinary teams involving scientific, engineering, and operational disciplines


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Knowledgeable of current environmental quality standards and validation of controlled areas
  • Strong technical understanding of the industry and validation practices related to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70-E and NEC requirements
