Position Overview:

As a Therapeutic Area Medical Science Liaison (TA MSL) - Hemophilia, Non-Malignant Hematology, you will be a credible scientific partner responsible for providing clinical and health economic information related to disease states and the appropriate utilization of Genentech medicines (approved and pipeline). In this field-based position, you will engage with healthcare providers, population health decision makers, and patients within your region(s), to further patient outcomes aligned with the overarching objectives of Genentech. Together with your regional partners, you will co-create the local medical strategy and deliver for your customers. Additionally, you may be responsible for covering multiple medicines and engaging in broad scientific discussions around patient outcomes and total cost of care. Your insights and expertise will be shared with key stakeholders across the organization, enriching our understanding of customer needs.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a TA Medical Science Liaison, your role will be to ensure an exceptional end-to-end customer experience for our Rare Blood Disorder (RBD) -specific customers in the region. You will respond to on and off-label questions with integrity, compliance, and adherence to legal, regulatory, and Genentech guidelines.

  • Your deep scientific expertise in assigned molecules/products, franchise(s), and therapeutic area(s) will allow you to exchange valuable information with thought leaders and healthcare decision makers. Building relationships with key external scientific and medical customers and organizations in your region will keep you updated on evolving healthcare trends.
  • Proficiency in various topics such as value/cost of care discussions, hospitalizations, risk of progression, drug pricing pressures, reimbursement education, and AE management is essential. You will engage in continuous independent learning within your therapeutic area and participate in upskilling programs.
  • Collaboration is vital. You will work with field partners to foster an enterprise approach when working with customers and be accountable to the regional team in shaping and executing local medical strategies within planned timelines. You may potentially serve in a Medical Affairs Executive Director (MED) role with specific customers based on regional needs and priorities. You will also assist with Phase I - IV clinical trials, health economic outcomes research, and other RBD-specific medical collaborations, providing clinical expertise and feedback for optimal site selection and performance.
  • You will develop and manage clinical and scientific communications for customers, including publications, conference data, educational materials, and internal Genentech communications. Efficient use of the CRM system will allow you to identify and share insights with Genentech stakeholders.



Territory will cover NY, NJ, PA, MA, DE, ME, NH, VT, RI, & CT. It is preferred that candidates life the NY, NJ, CT area.

WHO YOU ARE:

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced Clinical/Science Degree required (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA etc.). BSN with extensive clinical experience may be considered.
  • You have gained a minimum of 5 years related work experience (clinical, managed care, or industry experience), including understanding of managed care, health economics, healthcare reimbursement, managed care customers and the distribution channels relevant to pharmaceutical/biotechnology organizations.
  • You have the ability to quickly learn new disease or product areas to adapt to changing business needs and product life cycles. We value your agility and adaptability in keeping up with the evolving landscape.
  • You will have exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to handle multiple objectives and priorities effectively, track record of meeting or exceeding goals, strong attention to detail, willingness to embrace a learning mindset, and openness to training and continuous improvement.
  • You will have excellent business acumen, outstanding communication and collaboration skills, ability to resolve conflicts effectively, and proficiency in summarizing complex information for important presentations and decision-making.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • You have current or recent experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
  • Experience in Hemophilia is highly preferred



In addition to passing Genentech's background screening, the employee must submit to and pass additional background screening as required by some institutions and health facility sales accounts (additional screening requests may include but are not limited to background checks, immunization, TB, HIV, hepatitis, and drug screening)

Complies with all laws, regulations, policies and procedures that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

This is a field-based position.

Extensive business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings (up to 50% of time). This position requires significant driving of either a company provided or personal vehicle as well as prolonged periods of sitting, both of which are part of the essential duties and responsibilities of the role. As a result, Genentech, Inc. (Company) from time to time will check your motor vehicle record for purposes of determining your eligibility for driving a Company vehicle or driving any vehicle on Company business.

The expected salary range for this position is insert $141,300 and $262,300 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
