Overview

We are seeking a full-time, salaried Environmental Scientist to support and grow our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation Team in Eagan, Minnesota. This position would be part of a team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads supporting environmental investigation and compliance-related work within a wide variety of projects primarily for rail, industrial, and public sector/private clients. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual looking for career growth and have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience. The position focuses on a candidate with the ability to work independently or in a project team with demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, presentations, analytical, professional judgment, and team building skills. Flexibility to work at client sites as well as in an office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental assessment (ASTM Phase I/II ESAs), investigation, remediation, and compliance related projects in the field and office.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, graphics, work plans, and construction documents, including field documentation and sampling results to summarize data, results, and remedial options.
  • Direct experience developing Stormwater Pollution Prevent Plans (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC) as well as the implementation of the stormwater Best Management Plans (BMPs).
  • Perform day-to-day operational aspects of compliance-related activities related to SWPPP's, SPCC plans, hazardous and non-hazardous waste inspections (including manifesting and disposal), air permitting, NPDES inspections, EPCRA Tier II and TRI reporting, and wastewater compliance.
  • Experience to performing daily operations and inspections at industrial wastewater treatment plants. Daily operations include sampling, troubleshooting component issues, coordinate system cleaning and repair of the plant.
  • Ability to work independently or in a project team with demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, presentations, analytical data interpretation, professional judgement, and team building skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients professionally and display service-oriented attitude to address their operational, compliance, and development challenges and goals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, and public agencies.
  • Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to Travel regionally and state-wide on short and long-term assignment, as needed.


Qualifications

  • Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent attitude and ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Must have a sense of urgency, be self-motivated, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, or related degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with remediation and compliance related work such as SPCC, SWPPP, NPDES, WW and EPCRA reporting and inspections.
  • DOT Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and eRailSafe and Contractor Safety.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training with current refresher
  • Professional Engineer and/or Geologist license or willingness to obtain licensure when eligible.
  • Possession of a Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence presenting to groups and enjoy networking and meeting new people.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
