Chemist (Onsite)
Description
The Chemist is responsible for analyzing, refining, and testing products to improve the quality of the products and procedures while ensuring safety in the QA Lab. This includes routine testing and approvals, analytical testing, and project work.
Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities
- Perform Contract Manufacturing lab testing and associated duties.
- Must have a working knowledge of all analytical test equipment and procedures used in the lab: Thermal Analysis, Rheology, Spectroscopy, and Chromatography.
- Hands on sample prep, analytical testing, and analysis report abilities.
- Develop new and/or improve existing products and materials.
- Project work as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain equipment and necessary analytical lab inventory of consumables.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.

Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry or a similar scientific field, such as engineering or physics required, OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Prior laboratory experience as a chemist preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
CONTACTS: Internal - Continuously (67 - 100%) External - Rarely (1 - 5%)
Contacts involve giving or exchanging information of a limited controversial nature.
Regularly
- Communicates via phone, email, in person, and video.
- Required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Frequently
- Operates a computer and other office machinery such as copy machine, and printer.
- Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions.
- Walk and use stairs to maneuver throughout the buildings.
Occasionally
- Lift and/or move 50 lb. packages of raw materials.
Other
- Standard office, lab, and production environments. The noise level is typically low, due to office equipment, the noise level on the production floor and lab is typically medium to high.
- Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses, shoes, face shields, gloves, etc.
