Associate Director, Statistics - Korea Data Science and Advanced Analytics
Job Overview
• Utilizes specialized statistical methods to collect and analyze data and to help solve real-world problems in business, healthcare, or other areas within the organization.
• Uses various data, methodologies, and expertise to support our clients in solving their problems, improving the quality of our own services, and developing new services.
Essential Functions
• Manages the design, development, and implementation of internal and external client projects.
• Provides key expertise in designing advanced statistical methodologies, analytics and project execution support for standard and custom studies.
• Consults with clients on study designs and feasibility contributing to the methodology and technology sections of project proposals.
• Works on projects of complex scope where an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors is required.
• Under moderate guidance from their director, the incumbent carries out business planning and strategy work, leads a small team of managers with regard to project management, execution, performance measurement and administration.
• While managing a team of experts and managers: Guides the team in designing and executing statistical methodology standards and guidelines to maintain quality and relevance of existing offerings.
Qualifications
• Master's Degree/Ph.D. Statistics, Mathmatics, Information Technology or Bio-informatics preferred
• At least 5 years of statistics or data science experience
• At least 2 years of management experience
• Healthcare data experience such as HIRA
• People manager role for Korea's Stats team
• Abundant knowledge in statistics, machine learning, and natural language processing, with practical experience in modeling, simulation, and predictive analysis
• Advanced programming skills in R, Python, SAS, or SQL, and at least three years of practical and analytical experience using them
• Great English communication skills required
• Reporting to Director based in Japan
